Questions, answered
Everything people ask before the first appointment.
How long will my style take?
Most installs run between four and eight hours. Cornrows, twists on natural hair and crochet are shorter. Each service lists its time, and your consultation sets the day.
How long does a style last?
Plan on four to eight weeks for braids, four to six for twists and crochet, and a retwist every four to eight weeks for locs. Wearing a style longer isn't the aim: we'll tell you when yours is due out.
Do I need a consultation?
New clients start with one, in the studio or by text with photos. We agree the style, size and length, and give you a written quote and a time estimate before we part anything.
Can I bring my own braiding hair?
Yes. Say so when you book and tell us the type, and we'll plan the amount with you. If you'd rather we supply it, that shows in your quote.
How do I take a style down?
Book a take-down. We cut the extension hair above your own and unbraid section by section. Please don't cut at the root yourself: it's easy to cut your own hair with it.
How should I care for it between visits?
Wash your scalp every week or two, rinse well and let it dry fully. Tie it up or wrap it in satin at night. We go over it with you at the end of the visit.
Can you braid short hair?
Most styles need a few inches of your own hair to hold. If yours is shorter, we'll tell you what we can do, and whether another style fits better.
Can I bring a friend or a child?
One guest can wait with you. We braid children from age 8 who can sit through the service, with a parent in the room.
How does a deposit work?
Services marked "Deposit to book" hold a braider's day with a deposit that goes toward your service. The amount shows when you book.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the style, the size of the parts, the length and your braider's level. Prices show when you book, and How pricing works explains each part.
