Services

Softer styles, and locs that are kept

Twists on your own hair or with added length, crochet styles looped onto a braided base, and locs from the first session to the retwists after.

Twists and crochet are lighter than braids and come out faster. Locs are a plan, not a style: we map the first months with you.

  • Install: 2 to 6 hours

  • Twists and crochet worn 4 to 6 weeks

  • Locs retwisted every 4 to 8 weeks

What happens

The visit, step by step

  1. 01

    Step 1: Plan it

We agree the style, the size and the length, and look at how your hair behaves, so the twists suit it.

    • 30 minutes

  2. 02

    Step 2: Prep

Wash, detangle and stretch. Twists on natural hair start from this step, so it matters.

    • 45 to 75 minutes

  3. 03

Step 3: Twist, loc or crochet

Twists are made section by section. Crochet styles are looped onto a braided base. Locs are started or retwisted in place.

    • 2 to 6 hours

  4. 04

    Step 4: Finish

A trim of any loose ends, a plan for the weeks ahead and your next visit on the calendar.

    • 20 minutes

What to know

The price comes from the style, the length, the hair and the braider's level, and it shows when you book.

  • Washed and dry hair

Come with hair washed, dry and detangled, with no oil or gel in it.

  • Hair for the style

Passion twists, Marley twists, crochet hair and faux locs use added hair. We supply it, or you bring yours.

  • Locs take a plan

Real locs are started, then kept: a consultation sets the method and how often you'll come in.

  • Take-down

Twists and crochet come out in one to two hours. Faux locs come out in a take-down visit. Real locs stay.

Questions about this style

How often do locs need a retwist?

Most people come in every four to eight weeks. We'll agree a schedule with you at your consultation and change it as your hair changes.

Are faux locs and real locs the same visit?

No. Faux locs are installed with added hair and taken down in a visit when you are ready. Real locs are started from your own hair and kept.

What is crochet?

Hair is looped onto cornrows or braided parts with a small needle. It is quick to install, and easy to change when you want a different look.
